Broad Run's John Ryan wins NVSHL Player of the Year

Inbetween Championship games Friday night, the NVSHL announced their All State Team for the 2021-22 Season.
 
Broad Run’s John Ryan was named Player of the Year.  Ryan a Junior at Broad Run High School led the league with 33 goals and 43 points.  He also led Broad Run to the upset of the year, when they defeated two time defending State Champion Riverside in the NVSHL quarterfinals. 
 
--Goalie Jacob Levy, Yorktown, led Yorktown to a undefeated regular season with a GAA of 1.33.  He stopped 67 of 69 shots in Yorktown quarterfinal playoff game.
--Defensemen Kevin Donnelly, Riverside, was the backbone of a Riverside defense that went undefeated in the regular season and allowed only 22 goals.
--Defensemen Grant Wagner, Battlefield, spearheaded a Battlefield defense that allowed a league low 12 goals during the regular season.
--Mike Kuligowski, Langley, was the team Captain and leader for State Champion Langley High School.
--Connor Gnatek, Riverside, led a Riverside offense with 26 points that scored a league high 90 goals. 
--Derek Zhou, Briar Woods, The team Captain in leading them to the NVSHL title game and was there leading scorer with 23 points.
