The Semifinal games in the NVSHL didn't disappoint anyone who attended the Ashburn Ice House last night. In the opener, undefeated Chantilly High School led by last season Player of the Year Owen Morgan, defeated Stone Bridge 8-5. Morgan put on a show scoring six goals in leading his team to victory. In the nightcap, goaltender Will Hopewell and a stong team defensive effort led Riverside High School to a 2-1 victory over Broad Run.
This sets up the final for Friday night, Ashburn Ice House, 8:00pm, Riverside vs Chantilly. Either team has ever won the NVSHL crown, should be a full house as one team is crowned Champion for the first time.
Starting at 6:00pm is the Provisional Championship Game which will feature Dominion/Potomac Falls vs Tuscarora/Westfield.
The Quarterfinals in NVSHL were completed last night. Defending Champion Langley and Riverside were locked in a defensive struggle and goalie matchup of two of the NVSHL best, Langley's Dan Gerts and Riverside's Will Hopewell. Riverside won the battle 2-1 in a shootout. In the night cap at Reston, despite being out shot 44-15, the number one seeded Chantilly Chargers led by Owen Morgan's five points, defeated Briar Woods 7-4. At Ashburn, Broad Run led by a Hat Trick from Jacob Leitert defeated Yorktown 6-4. Despite being out shot 45-12, Yorktown made it a contest until the final seconds. In the nightcap, Stone Bridge put on a dominating performance outshooting Battlefield 46-12 in route to a 5-1 win. Battlefield's goalie Bella Gould was outstanding throughout the game and kept it close until Stone Bridge pulled away at the end.

8:50PM @ Ashburn Riverside vs Broad Run
The NVSHL Playoffs began last night with four teams moving on. Briar Woods was dominant as they beat Patriot 5-1 in the opener at Reston. In the nightcap, Yorktown had too much depth as they defeated Flint Hill 10-4. In Ashburn, Riverside led by a balance attack and outstanding goaltending by Will Hopewell defeated Madison 7-0. In the nightcap, Stone Bridge High School led by the Hat Trick of Brandon Brooks defeated McLean 7-2.
This all sets up the Quarterfinal matchups which will be played on Monday 2/24:
